When will the Uumen hotel in Helsinki open?
The opening of the Uumen hotel in Helsinki will take place in spring 2027. The hotel booking calendar is now open from July 2027 onwards, and bookings for spring and early summer will open once the exact opening schedule has been confirmed.

Does the hotel serve breakfast?
At the Uumen hotel in Helsinki, breakfast will be served at the restaurants at the central railway station, right next door to the hotel. We will publish more information about the delicious breakfast options during late 2026.

Does the hotel have a gym?
As a guest at the Uumen hotel in Helsinki, you can use a nearby gym for a single-visit fee. We will publish more information about our gym partner during late 2026.

Does the hotel have parking spaces and EV charging points?
In central Helsinki, there are several parking facilities in addition to on-street parking. The closest parking facility to the central railway station is P-Eliel. You can find more information about parking options on the central railway station website.

Are bed linen and towels included in the price?
Yes, bed linen and towels are always included in the price of a hotel night at Uumen.

Can more than one person stay in a room?
Depending on the room type, our compact rooms are designed for a maximum of one (Single), two (Double), or four (Cabin) guests.
No additional guests may stay in the rooms. As an exception, children under the age of 10 may share a Double room with their parents.

Can I stay at the hotel with a pet?
Unfortunately, for allergy reasons, pets are not permitted at our hotel.

What is the minimum age for guests?
Guests of all ages can stay at Uumen Hotels. Minors staying alone must, however, have permission from a parent or legal guardian. Permission is granted upon receipt of a consent form submitted in advance by the guardian. You can find the form here and send it to info@uumenhotels.fi

How do I book a room?
The easiest and most common way to book a stay at Uumen Hotels is through our website. You are in exactly the right place, and we always guarantee the best available price on our website. You can also book by calling our customer service or through online travel agencies such as Booking.com or Hotels.com. When you book directly through our website, you can also add services such as breakfast or a gym visit.

Can I choose between a room on the upper or lower floor?
Our booking system assigns rooms automatically, but if you let us know your preference in advance, we can almost always arrange the option you would like.

Booking confirmation & online check-in
Once your booking is complete, we will email you a booking confirmation containing all the booking details. You can use the booking confirmation to complete digital check-in (online check-in) in advance. When you arrive at the hotel, your guest details will already be filled in, and after activating your key wristband you can go straight to your room.
If you have not received your booking confirmation within 30 minutes of confirming your booking, contact us by email at info@uumenhotels.fi.

Can I change or cancel my booking?
The change and cancellation terms depend on the rate type you selected. Check your booking confirmation to see whether you booked the Non-refundable rate or the Flexible rate. A booking made through our website can be cancelled via the link in the booking confirmation if the booking terms allow cancellation. Bookings made through other booking services must be changed or cancelled through the relevant service in accordance with its booking terms.
- Non-refundable = Advance rate. Payment is made at the time of booking. The booking cannot be changed and the payment is non-refundable.
- Flexible = Flexible option. You can cancel your booking no later than 2 days before your arrival date. The booking will be charged 2 days before arrival.

How do I get an itemised VAT receipt?
How your itemised VAT receipt is delivered depends on the channel through which you made your booking.
Booking made through the Uumen website
You will receive the receipt by email after check-out, either automatically if you check out using the terminal in the lobby, or by requesting it from reception. If needed, we can also send the receipt afterwards.
Booking made through Booking.com
An itemised VAT receipt can be sent by email approximately three (3) days after check-out. You can request the receipt either before or after your stay.
Booking made through Expedia channels (e.g. Hotels.com)
If the booking was made through an Expedia channel, such as Hotels.com, the itemised VAT receipt must be requested directly from the relevant booking website. The hotel cannot issue a receipt for these bookings.

What payment methods are accepted at the self-service kiosks and hotel reception?
The hotel accepts all major credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Arrival and check-in

Can I store luggage at the hotel?
Yes, you can store your luggage in our locked, CCTV-monitored luggage room.
If you would like to leave your luggage with us before your stay, you can bring it to hotel reception at any time on your arrival day. Alternatively, you can check in early for an additional fee of 10 euros and take your luggage to your room.
On your departure day, you can leave your luggage in our luggage room and collect it at any time.

How does check-in work?
Check-in and check-out at Uumen Hotels are simple and flexible. You can provide the legally required guest details either before your stay (online check-in) or at the check-in station when you arrive at the hotel.
If you have completed digital check-in (online check-in):
- Go to the check-in station when you arrive at the hotel
- Find your booking
- Activate the key wristband(s) that give you access to your room
If you provide the guest details at the hotel:
- Go to the check-in station when you arrive at the hotel
- Find your booking
- Enter the guest details for everyone staying in the room
- Activate the key wristband(s) that give you access to your room
During check-in hours, you can arrive according to your own schedule without queuing. Check-in is also available at night, as our staff are on site around the clock. Our staff are there to welcome you and help whenever needed.

What time does check-in begin?
Check-in begins at 15:00 every day. After 15:00, you may arrive at any time according to your own schedule.

Is early check-in possible?
Early check-in is available on most* days from 11:00 for an additional fee of 10 euros. If you arrive before the official check-in time (but no earlier than 11:00) and your room is ready, you can pay the additional 10-euro fee yourself during check-in and proceed to your room once the payment has been made. To make sure your room is ready for early check-in, please contact our customer service before arriving at the hotel.
*On very busy days, such as festival weekends, only a limited number of early check-ins may be available. Please check availability before you arrive.

Can I arrive late in the evening or at night?
You can arrive entirely according to your own schedule. Our staff are on site throughout the night to welcome you and help with check-in.
The hotel’s main entrance is locked from 22:30 onwards, but on the morning of your arrival you will receive an email containing the door code. Check-in stations are available in the lobby for you to complete your check-in.

Does the hotel have free Wi-Fi?
Yes! You will receive the Wi-Fi login details during check-in.

How do I access different areas of the hotel?
You access the hotel using a key wristband activated during check-in. The wristband is easy to keep with you and gives you access to your room and all other areas available to you during your stay.

Does the hotel have a microwave, refrigerator, and kettle?
Yes! A microwave, kettle, and refrigerator are available for guests near the lounge areas at the hotel’s northern end.

Where can I find the shower and toilet facilities?
The shared shower and washing facilities, with separate areas for men and women, are located in both wings of the hotel, immediately next to the accommodation areas. Routes to both the general and accessible washing facilities are signposted on site. Toilets are located in connection with the accommodation areas, so there is always one nearby.

How do the shared washing facilities work?
Uumen’s comfortable and stylish washing facilities are shared and help you prepare both for a new day and for bedtime. In addition to the shared bathroom areas, there are lockable individual shower facilities that provide privacy while you wash.

How does check-out work?
Check-out at Uumen Hotels, like check-in, is completed using the terminals in the hotel lobby.

What time is check-out?
Check-out is by 11:00 every day. Your room is available until 11:00 on your departure day.

Is late check-out possible?
Late check-out is available until 13:00 for an additional fee of 10 euros and until 15:00* for an additional fee of 20 euros. You can add late check-out by contacting our customer service.
*On very busy days, such as festival weekends, only a limited number of late check-outs may be available until 15:00. Please contact our customer service to check availability.

What should I do if I lose my key wristband?
Please report a lost key wristband to hotel reception immediately. Once we have been notified, we will deactivate the lost wristband and activate a new one for you.
A fee of 10 euros is charged for a lost key wristband.

What should I do if I need help during my stay?
If you need help, we are here for you. Our staff are available to help and advise you from the moment you check in. You can also reach us by phone, email, or through the guest portal. In an emergency, call the general emergency number 112.
